The second annual Harbor Country Hearts Party, a fundraiser to support OutCenter Southwest Michigan, will usher in spring with an evening of dancing, drinks and food provided by Froelich’s of Three Oaks. It takes place on May 6, 2023 at 7 PM at Froelich’s event space, 19 N. Froehlichs, Three Oaks, MI. Tickets are now on sale.
Building on the success of the event’s debut in 2022, this year’s celebration will spotlight the dedicated work of teachers, educators and administrators in Southwest Michigan.
“We are so excited to celebrate the hard work of area educators who are dedicated to the well-being of LGBTQ+ youth,“ said MaryJo Schnell, executive director of OutCenter Southwest Michigan. “OutCenter works with more than 25 local schools and has reached more than 11,000 elementary, middle, high school and college students through our programs and outreach efforts. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate them, and also to celebrate who we are and what we’ve achieved to date. On behalf of the Hearts Party Committee and the OutCenter Board and staff, we look forward to welcoming a wide spectrum of the community—and be sure to wear your dancing shoes!”
“This year’s event is going to be so exciting,” said event producer Tom Mullen. “It’s such a great time to be celebrating, now that we have both a governor and a majority in the state legislature that supports equality for LGBTQ+ Michiganders. We’re so looking forward to hosting a night of pure joy while we support OutCenter’s fantastic programs and initiatives.”
Collaborating with Mullen on the event team is Marco Chavarry (Alapash), Susan Stoneburner (At Properties/New Buffalo), Joey DiMaggio (Stray Dog Bar & Grill), David Ball, Linda Martinez and Sam Darrigrand (Lakeside Inn).
Tickets to the Harbor Country Hearts Party are $100 per person.
